Rogier van der Heide
Rogier van der Heide, See the light. Rogier van der Heide is the Chief Design Officer for Philips Lighting. In this role he explores the new and unique ways that lighting can meet people’s needs and aspirations, to create meaningful, life-enhancing solutions. Until recently, he was Director at Arup and Global Business Leader Lighting Design of Arup Lighting. Rogier will be talking about the relation between light and health. As we now know light is not only taken in by the retina and skin, but new insights in biochemical pathways under influence of light seem to make us happy or sad, help us study or make us feel better in general. What if people can leave the Intensive Care Unit two or three days earlier because of smart lighting?
