TEDxMaastricht 2011 The Future of Health
Luuk Simons
A long term health enthousiast and thinker. That’s Luuk Simons. And that’s why we’re proud to have him as a speaker at TEDxMaastricht. Luuk’s mission is to empower people to be as healthy as they can be. And to help them age successfully, based on life sciences findings.
At the same time he is deeply concerned about the rising costs and limits of our symptom focused health care system.
In 1997, after a double graduation (Cum Laude) in the biomedical field, Minister Deetman presented him with the KIvI Thesis Award for his health care system rethinking. After that he completed a PhD and won multiple scientific awards, besides being a managing consultant on user-centric innovation.
Dr Ir Luuk Simons is founder of the Health Coach CV and the Cancer Health Coach. Besides he holds a part time position at Delft University of Technology. He is working on several projects to use intensive, ICT-supported health coaching to improve health and quality of life for those with lifestyle related diseases.
